The modular system for materials handling

Material logistics are critical to operating an efficient, profitable newspaper printing plant. AUROSYS is a modular system which automates the handling of paper reels and can include unloading trucks, transporting, warehousing, unwrapping, waste paper disposal, pasting preparation and loading of rollstands.

The AUROlog documents the flow of materials including all roll data and the tracking of rolls through the plant. AUROSYS intelligence is stored in this computer and is used to guide materials through three levels: material flow, material supply and material management. AUROIog communicates with the press control consoles and peripheral systems via a high-speed communication network.

Depending on individual printing plant requirements, the various components of AUROSYS (shown here with the AUROstore high-bay warehouse) can be linked to provide a custom-built configuration that maximizes efficiency and production reliability.
