Print '09

Featuring PRINTVALUE and printcom products and services on its booth, manroland drew hundreds of printers interested to hear how they could benefit.  The printcom area showcased a "mini-lab" that demonstrated how the various silicone, wash and lubricants are tested and approved for use in high-volume offset presses.  The Value-Added Printing (VAP) Tunnel was very busy as manroland spokesman Ric Reitz led many tours throughout the day.  The tunnel showed examples of how manroland presses are Better, Cheaper, Faster and Different than competition. Upgrades and add-on equipment was shown in the tunnel to give printers an idea of the options available on manroland presses.  The centerpiece of the printnet area was OK Balance.  manroland has developed this state-of-the-art closed loop further than any other press company and has it already in production.  Printers were anxious to see how this latest workflow development could enhance production print quality.  The manroland parts operation had display cases of common press parts and was offering special show pricing on the 2009 monthly specials of filters, sensors, etc. The newspaper segment was represented by ppi media where the ad assembly and other software was demonstrated.

At manroland's Print Technology Center in Westmont, several hundred more printers viewed demonstrations of the ROLAND 700 DirectDrive press, the fastest makeready press in the world.  During morning and evening demonstrations, the press performed perfectly with manroland's crew of master pressmen, quickly running job after job for the full demonstration period.  Printers were impressed at the ease of makeready and the high print quality from this press.

The Print '09 show was a great success for manroland with many new customers for printcom products, new projects for PrintServices and new leads for sheetfed and web presses.
